Volbeat – Still Counting

Hey! This time I’m writing about the song Still Counting by the Danish band Volbeat. It was published on the album Guitar Gangsers & Cadillac Blood in 2008. You can read the lyrics here.

The lyrics are first and foremost what I like about this song, mostly the first verse. Genius. I think the vocalist, Michael Poulsen, has a very special voice. The first time I heard this song was when was when a friend sang it to me (just the first verse), and she’s not so very metal-friendly, which I think very ironic. The guitar riffs are nice, and the whole song seems very upbeat. I like it!

“Counting all the assholes in the room, well I’m definitely not alone, well I’m not alone”
(Still Counting – Volbeat)

Hello there! Today’s song is Sally’s Song sung by Amy Lee from the cover album of The Nightmare Before Christmas Soundtrack (1993) called Nightmare Revisited, which was published in 2008. The song is originally from the film The Nightmare Before Christmas written by Tim Burton in 1993. Here are the lyrics. Enjoy.

I just adore Amy Lee’s voice. The song itself is a sweet piano ballad, and I love the melody. The lyrics are great and sort of sad, but I really like them a lot. This is just beautiful.

“I sense there’s something in the wind that feels like tragedy’s at hand”
(Sally’s Song – Amy Lee)

Hey! Today’s post is a cover my friend Markus did of the song Unholy Confessions by Avenged Sevenfold. I challenged him to do it on a  Saturday, and he said that he could do it the following Monday. Monday came, and then he was done! That is quick for covering that song, if you ask me!  I’m really impressed by this, and I think he did it wonderfully. It’s awesome!

I hope you like it as much as I did!

“Nothing hurts my world, just affects the ones around me”
(Unholy Confessions – Avenged Sevenfold)
