Karmina – Walk You Home

Hello there! New song, this time we’re slowing it down quite a bit with a song called Walk You Home by an American sister-duo called Karmina. The song was published in 2008 on the  Karmina For Christmas -EP. The song lyrics are here, and here is the song:

I first heard this song on a TV-series called “The Cleaner”, and decided I had to find it! It’s beautiful. I think the way the song is built up is very good. Kelly and Kamille Rudisill have such calming and harmonic voices. The lyrics are sweet and uplifting in a way, and you could both listen to this to relax or if you are having a bad day.

“Even the brave they depend on someone
The moon only shines with the help of sun
And it’s not as safe when you’re walking alone
I’ll walk you home”
(Walk You Home – Karmina)

Hey! Here’s a review of the song Psychosocial by Slipknot. The song was published in 2008 on their album All Hope Is Gone. Here‘s the lyrics, though there are apparently many versions of the lyrics out there, and I do not know which ones are right (but if you scroll down, you see what I think is right). The music video is below:

Since everyone has different versions of the song lyrics, and can pretty much only agree upon the word “Psychosocial” and the phrase “The limits of the dead!”, I decided to post what I think are the right lyrics to this song, and if you have reasonable suggestions for changes, I might change them!

I did my time and I want out
So effusive, fade
It doesn’t cut, this soul is not so vibrant
The reckoning, the sickening
Packaging subversion
Pseudo sacrosanct perversion
Go drill your deserts, go dig your graves
Then fill your mouth with all the money you will save
Sinking in, getting smaller again
I’m Done! It has begun – I’m not the only one!

And the rain will kill us all
If we throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see
The preservation of the martyr in me

Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial
Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial

Oh, there are cracks in the road we lay
But when the temple fell, the secrets have gone mad
This is nothing new, but when we killed it all
Fate was all we had
Who needs another mess?
We could start over
Just look me in the eyes and say I’m wrong
Now there’s only emptiness
Venomous, Insipid
I think we’re done – I’m not the only one!

And the rain will kill us all
If we throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see
The preservation of the martyr in me

Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial
Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial

The limits of the dead!
The limits of the dead!
The limits of the dead!
The limits of the dead!

Fake Anti-Fascist lie – (Psychosocial!)
I tried to tell you but – (Psychosocial!)
Your purple hearts are giving out – (Psychosocial!)
Can’t stop a killing idea – (Psychosocial!)
If it’s hunting season – (Psychosocial!)
Is this what you want? – (Psychosocial!)
I’m not the only one!

And the rain will kill us all
If we throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see
The preservation of the martyr in me

And the rain will kill us all
If we throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see
The preservation of the martyr in me

The limits of the dead!
The limits of the dead!

This is a very angry song. Corey Taylor, the vocalist, is really screaming it out, literally. The whole song reeks of aggression. Chugging guitars and pounding drums are key words in this song. It just rocks straight through the whole song, and helps the aggression in the lyrics being presented stronger. The only problem about these angry lyrics, are that there are so many insecurities about them, it seems that no one really knows what the right lyrics are.

“Who needs another mess?
We could start over
Just look me in the eyes and say I’m wrong”
(Psychosocial – Slipknot)

Hey! Today I’m doing a review of the song Welcome To The Family by Avenged Sevenfold. The song was published on the album Nightmare in 2010. Here are the lyrics, and below is the video:

This song, as many other A7X-songs, have amazing riffs, and an incredible guitar solo. I really like the whispering in the song, it creeps me out a bit, but it sounds awesome. The lyrics are very relevant today, with everyone complaining about everything and thinks that they’re the only ones who feels that way. “In a way it seems there’s no one to call when our thoughts are so numb and our feelings unsure. We all have emptiness inside, we all have answers to find, but you can’t win this fight!”. This says it all. Everyone has problems. Welcome to the family!

“Not long ago you found the answers were so crystal clear
Within a day you find yourself living in constant fear”
(Welcome To The Family – Avenged Sevenfold)

Hey ya’ll! I thought I would do something new this time. I checked out the Live act Evanescence did in Morocco May 20th this year (2012), and figured, “why not share the joy?”. So, now I’m sharing!

The complete concert playlist consists of the songs:

  • What You Want (Evanescence)
  • Going Under (Fallen)
  • The Other Side (Evanescence)
  • Weight Of The World (The Open Door)
  • Made Of Stone (Evanescence)
  • Lost In Paradise (Evanescence)
  • My Heart Is Broken (Evanescence)
  • Lithium (The Open Door)
  • Sick (Evanescence)
  • The Change (Evanescence)
  • Call Me When You’re Sober (The Open Door)
  • Imaginary (Fallen)
  • Never Go Back (Evanescence)
  • Bring Me To Life (Fallen)
  • Swimming Home (Evanescence)
  • Your Star (The Open Door)
  • My Immortal (Fallen)

Below are the songs in correct order, and in pretty good quality. (It pissed me off that WordPress wouldn’t let me post the songs as video clips, only as links, but unfortunately I can’t do anything about that). I hope you all will enjoy this little treat. (If not, you will waste more than an hour listening to this anyway!)

Edit: Now all the links I put up for you have been taken down by YouTube, so the only thing I have to offer you is the complete video of the concert, with progressively more delay towards the end of the concert (which I must say I hate, and I would never publish for you if there was any other way). Apparently the copyright laws are strict in Morocco, so this is the only thing you get. I hope you still can enjoy this great concert.

Evanescence holding the flag of Morocco

“Blurring and stirring the truth and the lies, so I don’t know what’s real and what’s not
Always confusing the thoughts in my head, so I can’t trust myself anymore”
(Going Under – Evanescence)

Hey there! Now I’m going to do a review about the song Never Too Late by Three Days Grace. The song was published in 2006 on the album One-X. The lyrics are here, and the heartbreaking music video is below:

I first of all love the finger ply in the beginning accompanied with only Adam’s voice before the band kicks in. It’s building up to the refrain, where the rock guitars plays their riffs, making the song rougher. Then, after the bridge, the song is take down to the finger playing and Adam’s vocals as they repeat the first two lines, and we see that sweet little girl, and over to the refrain again where an archangel is fighting the man. I think that is wonderful. And I really like the fact that the song ends as it starts, with the finger play.

The lyrics are sort of general for any situation, but if we look at the music video, there’s a whole new meaning to them. It seems obvious to me this is about child abuse, and the girl’s life when she grows up. In the end she breaks free from the handcuffs and hands that is holding her down, as Adam sings the words “Maybe we’ll turn it all around ’cause it’s not too late, it’s never too late”, and I preceive that as the message of this song, that you can break free, no matter, what, cause it’s never too late.

“The world we knew won’t come back
The time we lost, can’t get back
The life we had won’t be ours again”
(Never Too Late – Three Days Grace)

Today’s song will be Breath by Breaking Benjamin. The song was published on the album Phobia in 2006. Here are the lyrics, and enjoy the song!

The lyrics just sounds like someone is waiting for feelings to go over, a relationship to end, and move on to someone else. “Is it over yet?”. I love the guitar riffs, and I like the finger play and that you really can hear the bass in between the lyrics lines, and the rest. I think the song is really peculiar. I thought the whole “So sacrifice yourself…” was the refrain, and then it moves on to “You take the breath right out of me…” and then I went like “Aah, I see, that’s really strange, but it’s cool!”. Maybe I’m stupid, but that really fascinated me!

“I see nothing in your eyes, and the more I see the less I like. Is it over yet? In my head”
(Breath – Breaking Benjamin)

Epica – Unleashed

Today’s song is Unleashed by Epica. It was released on the album Design Your Universe in 2009. Here are the lyrics, and below is the music video:

I will say that this song is really epic. It’s grand, with an amazing choir and Simone’s wonderfully executed vocals. I also think the music video is pretty damn cool. And they all look posessed without looking awful. The whole concept of symphonic metal is surprisingly big in my ears. Every little sound feels like it’s filling my ears, even the rather quiet ones.  I am really impressed when simone takes the whole song up a notch in the end. What a voice!

“Time is just a concept, and always the first thing to fade”
(Unleashed – Epica)

Hey there! Apologies for not blogging in a terribly long time! Now, today’s post will be about Brick By Boring Brick by Paramore. The song was published in 2009 on the album Brand New Eyes, and was the second single off the album. Here are the lyrics to the song.

This is a song with a little attitude, and it tells a story. It has so much power, even if it doesn’t seem so complicated, Hayley’s voice gives off a lot of power, along with the drums and guitars. Even the meaningless humming gives off power and attitude.

The music video seems very sweet at first, but turns out to be pretty dark, especially the end, despite the bright colors. (Also, weird seeing Hayley with blond hair!)
“Go get your shovel, and we’ll dig a deep hole to bury the castle”. A creative way to tell someone tho forget the thoughts about a perfect life, living like a princess. At least that’s what I get out of the song lyrics.

“If it’s not real, you can’t hold it in your hand, you can’t feel it with your heart, and I won’t believe it.
Well if it’s true you can see it with your eyes, even in the dark, and that’s where I want to be.”

(Brick By Boring Brick – Paramore)
